Once you are interested in applying for a Sworn or Non-Sworn position with the Kansas City Missouri Police Department, here is what you need to do and what will happen during the application process:
Review Available Jobs
The first (1st) step you will take is to view the position you are interested in applying for. This can be done by select "Jobs" from the navigation menu above, or clicking here: Jobs.
Knowledge of Required Documentation
Once you have decided which position you are interested in, the next step (#2) is to review the Employment Application Checklist so that you are aware of what documents you will need to complete your application process.
Once you are ready to begin the application process, select Register from the navigation menu. To register, all you need to provide is a username, a valid email, and a password. When entering your email, you will need to enter it twice before submiting your information, to confirm you are sure of the password you have selected. Once you are ready, select "Submit" and you will receive a confirmation on the screen stating you have been registered. You will then receive a confirmation email at the email you provided during registration. You must check this email to retrieve your registration/verification code. This code is needed in order for you to log into your account for the first time. Without the verification code we sent to your email, you will not be able to login and therefore will not be able to complete the application process. Once you have your verification code, you can select Login from the navigation menu to log into your account.
Once you arrive at the Login page, you will then enter your chosen username and password and submit the form. If this is your first time logging in, you will be notified that you must enter your verification code (the one you retrieved from the email we sent you during registration). Click "OK" in the notification box and you will be forwarded to a login page that also includes a verification code entry box. Enter your username, password and verification code in this form and you will be logged in. Note: the verification code is only needed the first time you log into your account. From this point on, you will login using only your username and password.
